| | | | | TRELLIX WEB LICENSED TO GLOBALSCAPE
Our goal at Trellix has always been to help people build better web sites. Recently we came across an opportunity to give a significant boost to the Trellix Web client software by partnering with another industry leader. We're pleased to announce that we are licensing all ongoing support and development of Trellix Web as well as extensive distribution rights to GlobalSCAPE Corporation.
Important: this doesn't mean Trellix Web is going away! Just the opposite, in fact. GlobalSCAPE, makers of CuteFTP and other popular software will create their own version of Trellix Web and continue to enhance it and release new versions. (And yes, we'll pass on your suggestions for new features.)
What happens to your web site?
As you'd expect, existing Trellix Web 2.x files will continue to work with your current version of Trellix Web as well as with GlobalSCAPE's upcoming version. GlobalSCAPE will also be managing the Trellix Cafe, online support, and regular distribution of this newsletter. Of course this will have an impact on Trellix Web users -- but your existing software will continue to work and publish as always.
The future of Trellix
Trellix Web has been our baby for quite a while, and we've enjoyed seeing the hundreds of thousands of great sites you've created -- so even though this is great news, we are a little sentimental. However we're experiencing such overwhelming success with our other product, the Trellix Web Express online site building platform, that supporting both products is no longer feasible. This agreement will let us further our lead in creating private-label web site building solutions for Web leaders such as About, Bizland, CNET, FortuneCity, Network Commerce, and Terra Lycos. That emphasis, combined with the fantastic future for the Trellix Web client software under GlobalSCAPE, make this deal a win for Trellix, GlobalSCAPE, and you, our loyal users.
We'll be announcing the deal publicly in a few weeks, but we wanted to speak directly to all of our registered users. The transfer should occur around the middle of June, and at that time you'll start to see support links redirect to GlobalSCAPE's version of the Cafe.
Find out more directly from GlobalSCAPE or on the Trellix Cafe.

 | Your personal information | |
| | | | | At Trellix, we've always taken our obligations to protect your privacy seriously. That's why we've sent this email to over 400,000 of our registered users, not just those subscribed to our regular newsletters. While GlobalSCAPE is a well-respected company with a clearly explained privacy policy, we've told you that we would not release your personal information to any third parties without your consent.
To help GlobalSCAPE provide the level of customer support you've come to expect, we intend to provide them with our database of user information. If you would not like your name provided to GlobalSCAPE, follow this link before June 12 and enter your email address. To be clear -- GlobalSCAPE is not an advertiser or mailing list service, and they will not further release your name without your permission. Having our customer support records will help them do a better job of solving problems in the future.
